Got an update from Friends Reunited a few days ago. One of those updates was from the legendary Meric Pine.

I went to Twynham school in Xchurch and Brockenhurst college in the New Forest with this lad.

He was one crazy fucker back then.

Anyway, I read that he was the drummer in a band called The Red Hand band who had played at Glastonbury and Berlin in recent times.

You know how there was always some people at school that for some reason stood out from the crowd. You know, the sort of person who you thought was destined for much bigger and better stuff.

Enter Meric.

There is many a folklore tale about this kid in the Christchurch area. Maybe they were true and maybe they were shit.

Whatever, this kid always entertained me back then. Him and his side kick mersh.

If you get a chance. Go see them. They are playing at the Bull and Gate in Kentish town on 10th sept.

Not quite sure how they'll sound but I'm sure I've heard of them.

Must have named themselves after that cult kids show back in the 80's. The Red hand gang
